อุทยานประวัติศาสตร์พนมรุ้ง หรือ ปราสาทหินพนมรุ้ง ตั้งอยู่ที่ ต.ตาเป๊ก อ.เฉลิมพระเกียรติ จ.บุรีรัมย์ คำว่า "พนมรุ้ง" นั้น มาจากภาษาเขมร คำว่า "วนํรุง" แปลว่า "ภูเขาใหญ่" ในช่วงแรกปราสาทหินพนมรุ้ง สร้างขึ้นจากหินทรายสีชมพู
Phanom Rung Historical Park or full name is Prasat Hin Phanom Rung is a Hindu Khmer temple complex set located in Buriram Province in the Isan region of Thailand.

ปราสาทหินพนมรุ้ง ตั้งอยู่บนยอดเขาพนมรุ้งสูง 1,320 ฟุตจากระดับน้ำทะเล ห่างจากตัวเมืองบุรีรัมย์ลงมาทางทิศใต้ประมาณ 77 กิโลเมตร บนยอดภูเขาไฟที่ดับสนิทแล้ว

Phanom Rung Stone Castle on the rim of an extinct volcano at 402 metres (1,320 ft) elevation. From the town of Buriram down south about 77 kilometers.

ปราสาทหินพนมรุ้งเป็นโบสถ์พราหมณ์ ศาสนาฮินดู ลัทธิไศวะ ในช่วงแรกปราสาทหินพนมรุ้ง สร้างขึ้นจากหินทรายสีชมพู ชื่อพนมรุ้งแปลว่าภูเขาใหญ่ สันนิษฐานว่าสร้างขึ้นในพุทธศตวรรษที่ 15-18

 Prasat Hin Phanom Rung is a Hindu Khmer temple. It was built of sandstone and laterite in the 10th to 13th centuries.

ทางเดินปูด้วยหินศิลาแรงยาว 160 เมตร ทั้งสองข้างประดับด้วยเสามียอดคล้ายดอกบัวตูมเรียกว่าเสานางเรียง จำนวนข้างละ 35 ต้น รวม 70 ต้น

มณฑปด้านทิศตะวันออกปราสาทประธาน มีทับหลังนารายณ์บรรทมสินธุ์ ที่เชื่อว่าถูกโจรกรรมไปเมื่อราวปี พ.ศ. 2503 ในช่วงสงครามเวียดนาม และถูกนำไปจัดแสดงอยู่ที่สถาบันศิลปะชิคาโก ประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา แต่ถูกทวงคืนโดยประชาชนไทยนำโดยรัฐบาล จนได้ทับหลังชิ้นนี้คืนมาทันวันพิธีเปิดอุทยานประวัติศาสตร์พนมรุ้งพอดี ในปี พ.ศ. 2531

Reclining Vishnu Lintel : Believe that stolen when the Vietnam War. And was exhibited at the Chicago Art Institute United States (USA) then it get return to Phanom Rung Historical Park in 1988.

"ศิวลึงค์ซึ่งแทนองค์พระศิวะ" ประดิษฐานภายในห้องครรภคฤหะ ใกล้กันมีประติมากรรมวัว "โคนนทิ (อังกฤษ: Nandin) คือ พาหนะของพระศิวะ"

"Linga" and "Shivling" representing Lord Shiva is enshrined within the halls and near is the cow sculpture "Nandin vehicle of Lord Shiva".

ปรากฏการณ์ดวงอาทิตย์ขึ้นส่องแสงลอดประตูทั้ง 15 ในวันที่ 3-5 เมษายน และ 8-10 กันยายน ของทุกปี และ ในวันที่ 6-8 มีนาคม และ 6-8 ตุลาคม ของทุกปี ดวงอาทิตย์ก็ตก ส่องแสงลอดช่องประตูทั้ง 15 บาน เช่นกัน / อุทยานประวัติศาสตร์พนมรุ้ง

The sun shines through the of the 15 doors on April 3-5 and on September 8-10 every year. And on 6-8 March and 6-8 October each year, light of the sunset through all the 15 doors as well.
