Chedi Phu Khao Thong (Phu Khao Thong Stupa) is the grand stupa located outside of Muang Ayutthaya island about 2 kilometers in the northwest of Ayutthaya province Thailand.
ทางเข้าจะเป็น พระบรมราชานุสาวรีย์ สมเด็จพระนเรศวรมหาราช บริเวณทุ่งภูเขาทอง ในเนื้อที่ 543 ไร่ ถนนสายอยุธยา-ป่าโมก-อ่างทอง องค์พระบรมรูปขนาด 3 เท่า ทรงม้า แท่นฐาน และลานบันไดเป็นหินอ่อน และ หินแกรนิต
The entrance is the King Monument King Naresuan is located in area of Thung Phukhao Thong with an area of 543 hectares, on the road of Ayutthaya - Pa Mok - Ang Thong Road. Statue is 3 times of size, the equestrian. The base and the stairs is the marble and the granite.
เจดีย์ภูเขาทอง ตั้งอยู่นอกเกาะเมืองทางด้านตะวันตกเฉียงเหนือ มีความสูง 90 เมตร ตั้งอยู่ในวัดภูเขาทอง ส่วนเจดีย์วัดใหญ่ชัยมงคล เป็นมหาเจดีย์สำคัญที่อยู่นอกเกาะเมืองด้านตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ มีความสูง 92 เมตร ที่สูงกว่าเจดีย์ภูเขาทองเพียง 2 เมตร
Chedi Phu Khao Thong is a high of 90 meters located in Wat Phu Khao Thong in the northwest but Chedi Wat Yai Chaimongkol is located in the southeast outside the Muang Ayutthaya island is a high of 92 meters only 2 meters higher than Chedi Wat Phu Khao Thong.
เจดีย์ภูเขาทอง ที่ปรากฏอยู่ในปัจจุบันนี้น่าจะได้รับการบูรณปฏิสังขรณ์ให้เป็นมหาเจดีย์สูงเด่นในระหว่างรัชสมัยพระมหาธรรมราชาถึงสมัยพระเพทราชา (ระหว่าง พ.ศ.2112 - 2246) และมีการบูรณปฏิสังขรณ์ใหญ่อีกครั้งในสมัยพระเจ้าบรมโกศ หรืออยุธยาตอนปลาย นั่นคือ มีฐานทักษิณ 4 ชั้น เป็นรูปสี่เหลี่ยมจัตุรัสโดยชั้นพื้นยาวด้านละ 69 เมตร ชั้นที่ 2 ยาวด้านละ 63 เมตร ชั้นที่ 3 ยาวด้านละ 49.4 เมตร และชั้นที่ 4 ยาวด้านละ 32.4 เมตร ทั้ง 4 ด้านมีบันไดขึ้นไปจนถึงฐานทักษิณชั้นบนสุด
Chedi Phu Khao Thong that we see nowadays might have been renovated and made it higher during the reign of King Maha Thamma Racha to the reign of King Phet-Racha (During year 1569 – 1703), and the big renovation was done again in the reign of King Boromakot or in the late Ayutthaya period. The renovated comprised of constructed the Square bases are 4 stories with the first floor each side is length of 69 meters, at 2nd floor each is long sides of 63 meters, at 3rd floor each is length of 49.4 meters and at 4th floor is top each side is length of 32.4 meters and all 4 sides with the staircase up to the base on top.
บนชั้นนี้ขององค์เจดีย์มีอุโมงค์รูปโค้งเข้าไปข้างใน ซึ่งมีพระพุทะรูปประดิษฐานอยู่ 1 องค์ สูงขึ้นไปเป็นฐานแปดเหลี่ยม องค์ระฆัง บัลลังก์ ส่วนเหนือขึ้นไปที่เป็นปล้องไฉน ปลียอด และลูกแก้วนั้น ของเดิมได้พังไปแล้วตั้งแต่สมัยต้นรัตนโกสินทร์ ซึ่งได้มีการซ่อมแซมขึ้นใหม่ในสมัยรัฐบาลจอมพล ป.พิบูลสงคราม เมื่อปี พ.ศ.2499 ในครั้งนั้น ได้ทำลูกแก้วด้วยทองคำหนัก 2,500 กรัม อันหมายถึง การบูรณะในวาระฉลอง 25 พุทธศตวรรษของไทย (ที่มา : สถาบันอยุธยาศึกษา - วัดภูเขาทอง / อยุธยาศีกษา )
On this floor is a Buddha statue enshrined within. Above is an octagonal base with a bell-shaped structure, in Thai called Plong Chanai (a part of Thai Chedi), Plee Yod (a top part of Thai Chedi) and a glass ball. The original pagoda was ruined since the early Rattanakosin period. Which has renovated new in the government of Por. Phibunsongkhram The Prime Minister in the year 1956. That time a glass ball made of gold weighing 2500 grams and put in the Chedi. This is means the renovated to celebrate 25th anniversary of the Buddha Era in Thailand.
พระอุโบสถวัดเจดีย์ภูเขาทอง อยุธยา เป็นอาคารรูปสี่เหลี่ยมผืนผ้า ขนาดกว้าง 11 เมตร ยาว 40 เมตร มีพระพุทธรูปเงิน และ นาค ประดิษฐานอยู่ด้านหน้า
The chapel of Wat Phu khao Thong Ayutthaya is a rectangular building with a wide 11 meters and long 40 meters. Which a silver and a copper-red Buddha statues in front the chapel.
