Wat Pho is located in Bang Kla District in Chachoengsao province Thailand. 23 kilometers away from the Chachoengsao city. With an area of 31 Rai. Highlights of the temple are a lot bats (Lyle's flying foxes) hanging on the trees.
บริเวณด้านหน้าวัด มีวิหารโบราณในสมัยของพระเจ้าตากสินมหาราช อายุหลายร้อยปี ซึ่งด้านในมีพระพุทธรูปปางไสยาสน์ 1 องค์ ประดิษฐาน ซึ่งนิยมเรียกกันคือ "หลวงพ่อโตวัดโพธิ์บางคล้า"

"วัดโพธิ์ บางคล้า" สันนิษฐานว่าสร้างขึ้นในราวปี พ.ศ. 2310-2350 สมัยกรุงศรีอยุธยาตอนปลาย เป็นศิลปะอยุธยาและรัตนโกสินทร์ เมื่อปี พ.ศ.2309 พระเจ้าตากสินมหาราช นำกองทัพตีฝ่าวงล้อมกองทัพของพม่า จากกรุงศรีอยุธยา และได้สู้รบกับกองกำลังทหารของพม่าครั้งสุดท้ายที่ปากน้ำโจ้โล้ จนทรงมีชัยชนะ (ปัจจุบันบริเวณนี้ได้สร้างเป็น "พระสถูปเจดีย์สมเด็จพระเจ้าตากสินมหาราช" ห่างจากวัดนี้ประมาณ 1 กิโลเมตร) และได้มาพักทัพที่วัดแห่งนี้ก่อนเดินทัพไปเมืองจันทบูร

ในบริเวณวัดโพธิ์ บางคล้า มีค้างคาวแม่ไก่เป็นจำนวนมาก ห้อยหัวอยู่บนต้นไม้ หน้าตาเหมือนสุนัขจิ้งจอก คือ มีดวงตาโต จมูกและใบหูเล็ก ขนสีน้ำตาลแกมแดง และมีเล็บที่แหลมคม ถือเป็นจุดเด่นของวัด
ค้างคาวแม่ไก่ภาคกลาง (อังกฤษ: Lyle's flying fox; ชื่อวิทยาศาสตร์: Pteropus lylei) เป็นค้างคาวขนาดใหญ่ชนิดหนึ่ง ในวงศ์ค้างคาวผลไม้ (Pteropodidae) มีความยาวแขนถึงศอกประมาณ 14.5 - 16 เซนติเมตร มีน้ำหนักตัว 390 - 480 กรัม เป็นสัตว์ป่าคุ้มครองตามพระราชบัญญัติสงวนและคุ้มครองสัตว์ป่า พุทธศักราช 2535 / ข้อมูลจาก วิกิพีเดีย
Inside Wat Pho Bang Kla area have lots of Bats : Lyle's flying fox. Its head hanging on the trees, it is looks like a fox is the big eyes, nose and small ears, brown-red hair and have sharp nails. Which a highlight of the temple.
This bat in English call : Lyle's flying fox, Scientific name : Pteropus lylei. A large species of bat, strain well as fruit bats (Pteropodidae). The long of arm to elbow about 14.5 - 16 cm. Weigh 390 - 480 grams. It is a protected species under the Wildlife Preservation and Protection Act, year 1992 / From Wikipedia.
มีศาลาขนาดใหญ่ที่อยู่บริเวณกลางวัด เป็นศาลาเปิดโล่งไม่มีผนัง มีรูปหล่อของพระเกจิอาจารย์ที่สำคัญของเมืองไทยประดิษฐานอยู่ และ มีพระพุทธรูปปางบำเพ็ญทุกรกิริยา เป็นพระพุทธรูปในลักษณะอิริยาบทนั่งขัดสมาธิ พระหัตถ์ทั้งสองซ้อนกันบนพระเพลา (ตัก) พระหัตถ์ขวาทับพระหัตถ์ซ้าย มองเห็นพระวรกายซูบผอมจนพระอัฐิ (กระดูก) และพระนหารุ (เส้นเอ็น) ปรากฏ ทรงบำเพ็ญทุกรกิริยาติดต่อกันเป็นเวลา 6 ปี แต่ก็ยังคงไม่ได้พบหนทางหลุดพ้นจากทุกข์ได้ และในที่สุดพระองค์จึงทรงเลิกการบำเพ็ญทุกรกิริยานี้ / ขอบคุณข้อมูลจาก www.touronthai.com
