Wat Suan Dok or Wat Buppharam is located on Suthep Road in Suthep, Muang district in Chiang Mai province Thailand. It is the tombs of the Royal Family of the Northern of Chiang Mai City. The temple is a Royal Temple.
วัดสวนดอก ตั้งอยู่ห่างจากประตูสวนดอกไปทางทิศตะวันตก 1 กิโลเมตร เนื้อที่ 35 ไร่ เดิมทีบริเวณนี้เป็นพระเขตราชฐาน โดยวัดสวนดอกสร้างขึ้นในภายในเวียงสวนดอก ซึ่งเป็นเขตพระราชอุทยานในสมัยราชวงศ์มังราย พระเจ้ากือนา กษัตริย์องค์ที่ 6 แห่ง ราชวงศ์มังราย และสร้างองค์พระเจดีย์สูง 24 วา หรือ 48 เมตร เพื่อประดิษฐาน "พระบรมสารีริกธาตุ" 1 ใน 2 องค์ ที่ "พระมหาเถระสุมน" อัญเชิญมาจากสุโขทัย ในปี พ.ศ. 1912 (องค์หนึ่งประดิษฐานอยู่ในพระเจดีย์ ใน วัดพระธาตุดอยสุเทพราชวรวิหาร)
Wat Suan Dok (Thai: วัดสวนดอก, which roughly translates as "flower garden temple") The temple is on Suthep Road, approximately one kilometre west of Suan Dok gate at the west side of the moat. Wat Suan Dok was founded by King Kue Na of Lanna for the monk Sumana Thera in the year 1370 CE. The temple was built in the centre of Wiang Suan Dok (Thai: เวียงสวนดอก), a walled settlement (Wiang, Thai: เวียง) of the Lawa people older than Chiang Mai itself. lent the temple its original name: Wat Buppharam Dok Mai (Thai: วัดบุปผารามดอกไม้), or Wat Suan Dok Mai (Thai: วัดสวนดอกไม้) for short.

The large 48 meter high bell shaped chedi built in a Sri Lankan style, can be seen from far. The relic of the Buddha is said to be contained within. Stairs on all four sides originally led up to the narrow terrace encircling the chedi but these have since been replaced by ramps, the balusters of which are decorated with seven-headed King Nagas emerging from the mouths of makaras, as is typical for the classic Lanna style. A grouping of white washed mausoleums, which house the cremation ashes of members of the royal family of Chiang Mai, is in the northwestern quarter of the temple grounds. At the beginning of the 20th century, Princess Dara Rasmi, one of the wives of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) and daughter of the Lanna king Inthawichayanon, had the ashes collected from around Chiang Mai to be interred at their present setting. กู่เจ้านายฝ่ายเหนือ สร้างขึ้นในปี พ.ศ. 2450 โดยพระดำริใน พระราชชายา เจ้าดารารัศมี ใน พระบาทสมเด็จพระจุลจอมเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว เจ้านายฝ่ายเหนือใน "ราชตระกูล ณ เชียงใหม่" ปัจจุบัน กู่เจ้านายฝ่ายเหนือ แห่งนี้ได้ถูกจดทะเบียนให้เป็นโบราณสถานสำคัญ ภายใต้การกำกับดูแลของกรมศิลปากร ขึ้นทะเบียนเป็นโบราณสถานแห่งชาติ ในราชกิจจานุเบกษา เล่มที่ 52 ตอนที่ 75 ลงวันที่ 8 มีนาคม 2478

Built in year 1907 by initiative of Princess Dara Rasmi, one of the wives of King Chulalongkorn (Rama 5). Current, This place has registration of as a historical monument. Under the supervision of the Department of Fine Arts. Registered as a National Historic Site, Dated March 8, 1935.
กู่เจ้าดารารัศมี พระราชชายาใน รัชกาลที่ 5 (26 สิงหาคม 2416 - 9 ธันวาคม 2476) เป็นพระมเหสีพระองค์หนึ่งออกพระนามว่า "เจ้าดารารัศมี พระราชชายา" เป็นพระมเหสีลำดับที่ 5 ในเวลานั้น พระบาทสมเด็จพระจุลจอมเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว รัชกาลที่ 5 ได้เสด็จสวรรคต ในวันที่ 23 ตุลาคม พ.ศ. 2453 นับรวมเวลาที่ พระราชชายาฯ ได้ถวายการรับใช้เบื้องพระยุคลบาท เป็นเวลา 23 ปีเศษ จนปี พ.ศ. 2457 พระราชชายาฯ จึงได้ขอพระราชทานพระบรมราชานุญาตกราบถวายบังคมทูลลาพระบาทสมเด็จพระมงกุฎเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว รัชกาลที่ 6 เพื่อเสด็จนิวัตินครเชียงใหม่เป็นการถาวร โดยเสด็จออกเดินทางเมื่อ วันที่ 8 มกราคม พ.ศ. 2457 และเสด็จพระดำเนินถึงยังนครเชียงใหม่ในวันที่ 22 มกราคม พ.ศ. 2457 พระองค์สิ้นพระชนม์ เมื่อวันที่ 9 ธันวาคม พ.ศ. 2476 เมื่อเวลา 15.14 น. ณ คุ้มรินแก้ว สิริพระชันษา 60 ปี 3 เดือน 13 วัน / เจ้าดารารัศมี พระราชชายา

เจ้าน้อยศุขเกษม เมื่ออายุได้ 15 ปี ได้ไปศึกษาที่โรงเรียนเซนต์แพทริค ในเมืองมะละแหม่ง ประเทศพม่า เมื่อเจ้าน้อยฯ อายุ 19 ปี ได้พบรักกับมะเมียะ แม่ค้าสาวชาวพม่า ในปี พ.ศ. 2445 ทั้งคู่ได้ใช้ชีวิตอยู่ร่วมกันฉันสามีภรรยา ต่อมาในปี พ.ศ. 2446 เจ้าน้อยฯ อายุครบ 20 ปี ถึงกำหนดการเดินทางกลับนครเชียงใหม่ เจ้าน้อยจึงให้มะเมียะปลอมตัวเป็นผู้ชายติดตามขบวนเพื่อกลับไปยังเชียงใหม่ ในฐานะสหายหนุ่มชาวพม่า โดยทั้งสองไม่รู้เลยว่าเจ้าพ่อและเจ้าแม่ของเจ้าน้อยฯ คือ เจ้าแก้วนวรัฐ ได้หมั้นเจ้าหญิงบัวนวล ไว้ให้แล้ว มะเมียะจึงต้องหลบซ่อนตัวอยู่ในคุ้มเป็นระยะเวลานาน และ สถานการณบ้านเมืองขณะนั้นน่าวิตกมาก เนื่องจากมหาอำนาจอังกฤษกำลังแผ่อิทธิพลไปทั่วดินแดนในคาบสมุทรเอเซียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ หากมีบุคคลอื่นรู้ว่ามีสาวชาวพม่าหลบซ่อนตัวอยู่ในคุ้มเจ้าราชวงศ์ อาจจะเป็นชนวนให้เกิดปัญหาทางการเมืองได้ จึงส่งตัวนางมะเมียะกลับไปยังประเทศพม่า ในเดือนเมษายน พ.ศ. 2446 เจ้าน้อยฯ ได้ให้คำมั่นสัญญาว่าภายในเดือนจะกลับไปหามะเมียะให้จงได้ นางจึงคุกเข่าลงกับพื้น ก้มหน้า สยายผมออกเช็ดเท้าเจ้าน้อยฯ จากนั้นนางได้แต่เฝ้ารอคอยเจ้าน้อยฯ จนครบกำหนดเดือนที่ท่านได้รับปากไว้ แต่กลับไร้วี่แววใดๆ มะเมียะจึงตัดสินใจเข้าพึ่งใต้ร่มพุทธจักร ครองตนเป็นแม่ชีเพื่อแสดงความบริสุทธิ์ว่านางยังซื่อสัตย์ ต่อความรักที่มีต่อเจ้าน้อยศุขเกษม ต่อมาเจ้าน้อยศุขเกษม ได้เข้าพิธีสมรสกับเจ้าบัวชุม ณ เชียงใหม่ และ ถึงแก่กรรมด้วยโรคเส้นประสาทพิการเรื้อรัง เมื่อวันที่ 20 มีนาคม พ.ศ. 2456 อายุ 33 ปี ส่วนแม่ชีมะเมียะได้ครองชีวิตเป็นแม่ชีจนกระทั่งถึงแก่กรรมในปี พ.ศ. 2505 รวมอายุได้ 75 ปี

Prince Chao Noi Sukkasem of age 15 years old has to study at the College of Saint Patrick in Moulmein city in Burma. When Prince Chao Noi 19 years old has found love with Miss Ma-Mhea is a Burmese young woman. In year 1902, the couple have lived together as husband and wife. Later, in year 1923 he of age of 20 years old, is the scheduled go back to Chiang Mai city. He tell her to disguised as Burmese man as a his friend to followed him back to the city. Which both did not know his father has engaged, him to be married to princess Chao Bua Nol, already. She had to live in with a hiding for a long time and the situation of the country is very distressing. Because the superpowers Britain's has influence radiating across the land in the Southeast Asian peninsula. If someone knows about a Burmese woman is hiding in the palace, may precipitating to be a political issue. So he sent her back to Burma in April 1909. He promised to return to her within month. She has knelt down on the floor, face bent , leave hair out then wipe his feet. Then she was waiting him, until maturity month his has promised . But he did not come to as promised. She decided ordained as a nun, as mean that the purity of her honest about the love to him. Later, Chao Noi Sukkasem marry with princess Chao Bua Chum of Chiang Mai City. and died from the nerve disability chronic the disease, on March 20, 1913 with 33 years old. Ma-Mhea is a nun was a living as a nun until her death in 1962 with 75 years old.
**The information comes from book "Phet Lanna, no. 1" by Mr, Pranee Sirithon of Phatthalung. Later, there is doubt that took of the ash bones of Ma-Mhea was included in tombs of the Royal Family of the Northern of Chiang Mai City. But was confirmed by the Royal Family of the Northern of Chiang Mai City, that is not true.
